Happy (belated) Mother's Day!

OK, I know this is a little late. My little (and big) guy's have been keeping me busy! Plus, I have been pondering a little bit on this subject. My first Mother's day. True, this time last year I was about 6 weeks pregnant with Eli and heading to Ohio to surprise the family with our big news. We gave Oren's Mom a bib (her gift for mother's day) that said "Grandma's little matzo ball" on it, and funny thing... they didn't even get it until Oren's Aunt Shari said "Is this an announcement?!" :). Looking back I didn't feel like a "mother" then. I knew I was, but it still didn't feel real and I shrugged it off, thinking I will celebrate it next year when I am really a mother. But after a dear friends start of adoption process and as I read another dear friends blog http://www.stillnotpregnant.blogspot.com/, she said what I had been feeling this year better then I could EVER have...... (yes Molly I am stealing your words) :)

Having or not having kids does not define who you are or what you are. WE ARE ALL MOTHERS.
Whether your kids are on are this Earth or in Heaven, on two legs or 4, are nieces, nephews or neighbors - WE ARE ALL MOTHERS.
And we need to be celebrated everyday, because being a mother is hard.
When you are a mother, you love someone or something unconditionally. You give more of yourself than you get in return and you put someone or something else before yourself. Not to mention the messes you clean up, the lack of sleep and the feelings of being unappreciated.
WE ARE ALL MOTHERS.
So Happy Mother's Day to all of you amazing women out there. Celebrate your mom's but also celebrate YOURSELF because you deserve it.
So thanks Oprah, for reminding us all.....
Biology is the least of what makes someone a mother.  ~Oprah Winfrey

I also want to add.... that even though it is tough, we have bad days, no sleep, yada... yada... yada...it is worth EVERY moment :) Love to you all!
